November 2025 Newsletter
Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back. Hope you had a lovely break.
This term our topic is Celebrations, we will also be continuing with our Autumn activities. We will be talking to the children about the importance of family and how it plays an integral part of our celebrations at this special time of year and explaining that lots of children don't have a loving family, let alone lots of lovely wrapped presents & food. We will of course be doing lots of crafts ready for the children's own celebrations.
We will be having our own Nativity play (story) for family and friends on Thursday 18th December. Our year ends with the Christmas party for all Playgroup children on Friday 19th December.
The first Consultation Evening will be on Monday 1st December. Please take this opportunity to come along to Playgroup and have a chat with your child's key person and see what your child has been doing.
Julie would also like to remind everybody, and let the new parents know, that we do like to work with parents and appreciate when parents share exciting things that have happened outside of Playgroup with the key person. If you have any interests or hobbies you would like to share with the children and staff, please feel free to talk to Julie. We still have our sheets for parents and key persons working together for you to stick photos of family pets, trips to zoos and any other exciting happenings that the children or yourselves would like us to know about. Our 'WOW' board is filling up nicely with all those milestone pictures & awards, thank you for sharing them & keep them coming!
The parent rota for parents of children in the Pre-School room is now back, so if you would like to come in please put your name down (only parents of the children who started before September please).
Don't forget about the book lending basket/rack for you & your children to look through & choose one to take home to read & share. We now have a couple of story bags available to borrow as well. During this term we hope to start adding activity bags for the 7 areas of learning. These bags will include a “prompt sheet” about what’s in the bag & how/why you might use the resources.
REMINDERS
It is important that all parents/carers ensure they are at Playgroup on time to collect their child/children. Collection times are 11.45am for morning sessions and 2.45pm for the afternoon sessions. It is distressing for your child to go out & have to return back in as you are not there but other parents are! Please note that the decked area where bikes and scooters are parked is very slippery at this time of year.
