January 2026 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back after the Christmas break. We hope you had a wonderful time and thank you for all the lovely cards & presents the staff received. A warm welcome to all those joining us this term.

I would like to thank everyone again for their support for the Nativity Raffle. We raised £110.

At the beginning of December, we welcomed our newest member of staff Melissa Fawcett. Melissa has worked for many years in Early Years, she holds a Diploma in Childcare & Education L3 & is a Norland Nanny. Melissa will be working Monday to Thursday lunch time with the “Awesome 3 & 4’s” & Friday with Siobhan in the “Terrific Two’s” room.

This term our topic is “World Transport”. We shall be learning all about the different modes of transport people use in their everyday lives. When & why they use it? Is it good for their health, wellbeing & our world? Along with many other questions. We will also be learning about and celebrating the Chinese New Year, Year of the Fire Horse, Pancake Day, Australia Day & St Valentine's Day.

We will be using the front & back gardens for digging, planting, hunting mini beasts & playing with the mud, sand & water, so please send your child to Playgroup in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty & also footwear/coats that are water proof & warm for all this rain & cold weather we are having.

Our 'WOW' board is now filling up with all those milestone awards, certificates & photos (we would still like to see more). This board is for you to share any achievements made outside of Playgroup, favourite pets or people, not just of the children, but anyone in the family. If you have a certificate or a picture you would like to share, we would love to put it on display. The parent rota is now back, so if you would like to come in, please put your name down.

This year is National Reading Year, so don't forget about the book lending rack in the hall for you & your children to look through & choose one to take home to read & share. We will also have a couple of story bags available each term for you to borrow for up to a week, if you would like one of these to borrow, please talk to a member of staff.
