November 2022 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back.  Hope you had a lovely break, and a warm welcome to all those joining us this term.

As of this term I have taken the hard decision to semi retire & will now only be in the playgroup on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. Jo who took on the role of Deputy Manager in September will be in all week. We will be working closely together to ensure that the playgroup carries on as it always has done.

This term our topic is Celebrations, we will also be continuing with our Autumn activities . We will be talking to the children about the importance of family and how it plays an integral part of our celebrations at this special time of year and explaining that lots of children don't have a loving family, let alone lots of lovely wrapped presents & food. We will of course be doing lots of crafts ready for the children's own celebrations.

We will  be having our own Nativity play (story) for family and friends on Thursday 15th December. Our year ends with the Christmas party for all Playgroup children on Wednesday 16th December.

The first Consultation Evening will be on Thursday 8th December.  Please take this  opportunity to come along to Playgroup and have a chat with your child's key person and see what your child has been doing.

Julie & Jo would also like  to remind everybody, and let the new parents know, that we do like to work with parents and appreciate when parents share exciting things that have happened outside of Playgroup with the key person. If you have any interests or hobbies you would like to share with the children and staff, please feel free to talk to Julie or Jo.  We still have our sheets for parents and key persons working together for you to stick photos of family pets, trips to zoos and any other exciting happenings that the children or yourselves would like us to know about. Our 'WOW' board is filling up nicely with all those milestone pictures & awards, thank you for sharing them & keep them coming!

The parent rota is in the hall, so if you would like to come in please put your name down (only parents of the children who started before September this term please).

Don't forget about the book lending basket/rack for you & your children to look through & choose a book to take home to read & share, if you don't see a book that you think your child would like to read please ask a member of staff for a topic you would like. We also have story bags & activity bags for the 7 areas of learning, for you to borrow. These bags will include a “prompt sheet” about what's in the bag & how/why you might use the resources.

REMINDERS
