Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back.  Hope you had a lovely break, and a warm welcome to all those joining us this term.

This term our topic is Celebrations, we will also be continuing with our Autumn activities . We will be talking to the children about the importance of family and how it plays an integral part of our celebrations at this special time of year and explaining that lots of children don't have a loving family, let alone lots of lovely wrapped presents & food. We will of course be doing lots of crafts ready for the children's own celebrations.

Our last day at playgroup this term will now be Tuesday 15th December. All children will be welcome to come on that day even if it is not their normal day/session. We hope to have our own Nativity play (story) for family and friends via zoom in the morning & our Christmas party including party food at lunch time, with a visit from the big man himself during the afternoon. More details will follow in a letter nearer the time.

We will be having all the new children who are starting in January 2021 in on visits on Wednesday 16th December hence the reason for our last day being the Tuesday.

This years first Consultation Evenings will still take place during the week starting  Monday 30th November.  Please take this  opportunity to come along to Playgroup and have a chat with your child's key person and see what your child has been doing. A letter explaining how they will run will follow nearer the date.

I now need to make an apology, due to an over sight I forgot to inform you all of the changes that have taken place within the staff. Due to Kylie's on going ill health, I have taken the decision to appoint Laura as Deputy Supervisor. Siobhan will still take on this role when Laura is not in. It was with regret that Emma & Teresa decided to leave their roles as Key Person's at the end of the summer term. Teresa has reduced her hours & has taken on the role of Playgroup Assistant. Emma is staying on as a bank member of staff. We also said goodbye to Hayley & Sue due to the end of their contracts. I appointed 2 new members of staff during the summer as Key Persons. Michelle Sewell who is working towards a level 3 NVQ in EYECC & Nadine Loder who holds a level 3 NVQ in EYECC. Nadine has previously worked as an Key Person at Ridgeway Day Nursery.

I would also like  to remind everybody, and let the new parents know, that we do like to work with parents and appreciate when parents share exciting things that have happened outside of Playgroup with the key person. We have our 'WOW' board for all those milestone awards and certificates to be displayed on & we still have our sheets for parents and key persons working together for you to stick photos of family pets, trips to zoos and any other exciting happenings that the children or yourselves would like us to know about.

REMINDERS

It is important that all parents/carers ensure they are at Playgroup on time to collect their child/children.  Collection times are 11.45am for morning sessions and 2.45pm for the afternoon sessions. It is distressing for your child to go out & have to return back in as you are not there but other parents are!
