Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back. We hope you had a lovely break, and a warm welcome to all those joining us this term.

During the half term break Archie's daddy & big brothers braved the strong winds & rain to replace the posts on the back fence that had snapped in storm Ciara which had made the back play area unsafe & the gate unusable. We are now open for business as usual!! A BIG THANK YOU to Steve, Tyler & Alfie.

We also made the decision to start replacing the windows (as & when we can afford to) in the mobile. Last week saw the first 3 going in, in room 1. We used the money raised through the Christmas Bazaar, Debenhams cake sale & the Nativity raffle to pay for these.

Our topic for this term is “Travel”. We will be finding out how we all get to Playgroup, do we walk, cycle, maybe use our scooters or our parents shoulder or do we live too far away  and have to come in the car?. Holidays will also be on the agenda have we been on one are we going on one, how did we get there? Was it a long or short journey? Did we need a map. We  shall also be making our own maps, whilst using our maths skills to chart & record everything we find out. We will be looking at all the different ways we travel.

World Book Day is on the 5th March, that week we will be sharing a different story book each day in sound time, with food as the common theme. We will then be having the food (in some form) for snack or making/cooking it to bring home.

This term we will also be very busy celebrating Mother's Day & Easter, doing lots of fun Easter activities, whilst learning all about giving and sharing and thanking those who love and care for us.

This is the Spring term! So we will be doing lots of planting, digging and hunting for mini beasts (on top & under ground,) so please send your child/children to Playgroup in clothes that are warm  and you don't mind getting dirty. Forest School will be continuing through to the end of term. All the children have had great fun making fires, drinking hot chocolate, popping pop corn, playing in the mud kitchen & using rope to get across between the two trees. We have started to put up the photos please come in & have a look (see if you can spot which muddy child is yours!).

The photographer will be here to take our photos on Thursday 27th February & we have the Easter Fayre on Saturday 28th March. So lots to look forward to.

Reminder For Parents/Carers

PLAYGROUP PARENT/CARERS ARE NOT TO PARK IN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS WHEN DROPPING OFF OR PICKING UP THEIR CHILDREN. THE DESIGNATED PARKING AREA IS THE ROADS WITHOUT YELLOW LINES OUTSIDE THE GATES. THE SCHOOL HAS MADE IT KNOWN TO ME THAT THERE ARE A FEW OF OUR PARENTS/CARERS WHO ARE CHOOSING TO IGNORE THIS. PLEASE DON'T! BY DOING THIS YOU ARE PUTTING THE PLAYGROUP AT RISK OF LOSING OUR SITE.
