Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back.  Hope you had a lovely break, and a warm welcome to all those joining us this term.

This term our topic is Celebrations, we will also be continuing with our Autumn activities . We will be talking to the children about the importance of family and how it plays an integral part of our celebrations at this special time of year and explaining that lots of children don't have a loving family, let alone lots of lovely wrapped presents & food. We will of course be doing lots of crafts ready for the children's own celebrations.

We will  be having our own Nativity play (story) for family and friends on Tuesday 17th December. Our year ends with the Christmas party for all Playgroup children on Wednesday 18th December.

The first Consultation Evening will be on Thursday 5th December.  Please take this  opportunity to come along to Playgroup and have a chat with your child's key person and see what your child has been doing.

It is with regret that Jo Triggs will be leaving us at the end of November after 10 years to take up a full time post as a TA at Robert Le Kyng Primary School. I am sure you will join me in wishing Jo all the best in her new role. I will obviously let you know when I have appointed Jo's replacement. We are also welcoming a new member of staff this week. Sue Bracken is joining us as a SEN Assistant for this academic year. Sue has previously worked as an SEN Assistant at Ridgeway Day Nursery.

Julie would also like  to remind everybody, and let the new parents know, that we do like to work with parents and appreciate when parents share exciting things that have happened outside of Playgroup with the key person. If you have any interests or hobbies you would like to share with the children and staff, please feel free to talk to Julie.  We still have our sheets for parents and key persons working together for you to stick photos of family pets, trips to zoos and any other exciting happenings that the children or yourselves would like us to know about.  We also have our 'WOW' board for all those milestone awards and certificates to be displayed.  This board is for you to share any achievements made outside of Playgroup, favourite pets or people, not just of the children, but anyone in the family.  If you have a certificate or a picture you would like to share, we would love to put it on display.

REMINDERS

It is important that all parents/carers ensure they are at Playgroup on time to collect their child/children.  Collection times are 11.45am for morning sessions and 2.45pm for the afternoon sessions. It is distressing for your child to go out & have to return back in as you are not there but other parents are! Please note that the decked area where bikes and prams are parked is very slippery at this time of year.
