June 2025 Newsletter
Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely break and really enjoyed yourselves.
As this is the Summer term, we are all hoping that the sun shines!!! We would ask that all children have sunscreen applied before they come in, either in the morning or afternoon. Children who are staying all day, will have it reapplied during the afternoon, if they bring in their own named cream/lotion. Please put it in their bags. We will assume that all children are adequately protected from the sun when they step into the playgroup and therefore will be able to play outside in the sun. PLEASE DON'T FORGET HATS/CAPS.
This term our topic is Maths. We will be revisiting our height chart to see how much we have grown and painting our hands and feet again to measure the difference in size. We will be continuing to do lots of singing whilst learning our sums!! Of course, we will still be doing all the other fun activities & craft, don't forget to look at the board in the window each morning to see some of the day‛s activities.
This is the last term for our children who are getting ready to move on to 'Big School'. We hope their new teachers will be visiting during the term. We will be holding a parents consultation evening on Tuesday 24th June, which gives parents a chance to read the reports for the children going onto school, and a chance for all the children staying on to speak to their key person. All the staff wish the children moving on well as they make this big step in their young lives.
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone for supporting dressing up week. The children seemed to really enjoy coming in as their favourite hero/heroine and we raised a fantastic £72 !!! Again, thank you for your continued support.
I would also like to thank everyone for their understanding while we work out the logistics of the best way we can follow the safeguarding requirements of LPA, for our parents/carers on the walk to & from playgroup. Please can I also remind everyone that NO mobile phones are to be used on LPA's site. This means as soon as you come through the school gates you must not text or answer your phones. LPA also ask that your children stay with you & not walk/ride off.
It is very important that all parents/carers ensure they are at Playgroup on time to collect their child/children. It is distressing for your child to go out & have to return back in as you are not there but other parents/carers are! We will be starting to charge for all late pick ups that haven‛t been agreed by the playgroup. If your child/children are picked up by childminders/family please make them aware of this.
Again, thank you for your understanding.
Coming up this term we have, The Sponsored Playgroup Big Toddle, Leavers Presentation and Sports Day, more details to follow on these events. Please be aware that Playgroup will be closing at 1PM on Wednesday 23rd July.
We can now order some uniform with logos on. The items available for you to order are T-shirts £7.50, polo shirts £9.00, sweatshirts £12.00 and hoodies £13.00. You do not need to buy these, they are entirely optional, but I have had a few requests recently. I have a list of size and colour choices available in each style, and we have some examples in setting if you want to look at them before you buy. However, we will need the money when you place the order. Please come and speak to me if you are interested.
